ROME (ANA/ Th. Andreadis) — Pope Francis will visit Cyprus and then Greece in the period between December 2-6, 2021, the Vatican announced on Friday.
The 35th trip taken by Pope Francis since his election in 2013 will be marked by the Pope’s return to Lesvos, a Greek island on the frontline of the migration crisis, which he had visited in 2016.
Pope Francis, who will turn 85 in December, underwent bowel surgery in July and had greatly reduced his trips abroad last year due to the pandemic.
