Victoria has recorded 1,126 new local COVID-19 cases and five deaths, bringing the total number of deaths in the latest Delta outbreak to 366.

There are currently 54 patients in hospital on a ventilator and 91 in intensive care from the 556 COVID-19 patients in hospital. There are now 16,178 active cases of the virus in Victoria from the total of 44,479 test results processed on Sunday.

The health department says about 84 per cent of Victorians aged 12 and older have now been fully vaccinated.

The state’s restrictions will ease again after 90 per cent of Victorians aged 12 years and older have been fully vaccinated, which is expected to occur around 24 November.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 booster shots are set to be launched across the country from today following early launches in Victoria and NSW.

The Pfizer booster jab will be eligible to adults  who have been fully vaccinated for at least six months.
