Life just got easier for Australian drivers heading to Greece.
Australian drivers licence holders can now freely drive around Greece without needing to apply for an international driving permit.
Australian Ambassador in Athens, Arthur Spyrou, announced the news.

Cars and motorcycle drivers in Greece must be aged 18 or over and hold a full, valid driving license to legally drive in Greece, while riders of moped (not exceeding 50cc) must be aged 16 or over.
Drivers in Greece should be aware of speed limits: 50 km/h (urban roads), 110km/h (open roads) and 120 km/h (motorways).

It should be noted that Greeks drive on the right-hand side of the road and children under 10 must not travel in the front seat, while children up to the age of four need a child safety seat.
Other rules are similar to Australia regarding mobile phones and alcohol limits.
