Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is in London to visit with UK Prime Miniser Boris Johnson in his first post-Brexit visit to the United Kingdom.
The two men are meeting at 10 Downing Street on Tuesday afternoon to discuss a range of issues.
It is expected that the conversation will focus on bilateral relations, and there will be an emphasis on economic and trade relations, investments and tourism ahead of 2022.
Mr Mitsotakis is also expected to raise the issue for the return of the Parthenon Marbles to Greece. A Greek government source said he will argue that the reunification of the “stolen” 5th century BC works is an intergovernmental matter which lies outside the remit of the British Museum.
The Guardian reports that Mr Mitsotakis will emphasise the leaky roof in the London museum’s Duveen Gallery, where the Parthenon Marbles are on display.
The Greek leader will also be meeting with investors and representatives of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI).
