There have been another 10 cases of the Omicron strain of COVID-19 detected in NSW with nine of these being locally acquired and one from overseas. Nine of the 10 cases are connected to the Villawood cluster in Sydney’s southwest which is linked to a climbing gym and has affected two schools.
There are currently 25 cases of the Omicron COVID variant across NSW. Fourteen of these are local and 11 from overseas or on international flights.
There are 152 people in hospital due to COVID-19, and 24 are in intensive care.
