Olympiacos have all but secured the title after beating Aris and capitalising on AEK’s slip up which leaves them eight points clear at the Greek Super League’s halfway mark.
Olympiacos earned a 1-0 win over Aris on Monday morning in the 13th round’s premier fixture, reaching the middle of the season unbeaten. Defender Pape Abou Cisse scored the game’s only goal in the 54th with a header from a corner, making it his third goal in his past two league appearances for the Piraeus giants.
PAOK came from a goal down to beat Lamia 2-1 after three consecutive league losses. Lamia striker Bachana Arabuli stunned the home side, getting the opening goal in the seventh minute. PAOK defender Lefteris Lyratzis slotted an equaliser in the 18th before midfielder Jasmin Kurtic’s effort (64’) secured the result.
Asteras Tripolis held AEK to a draw on Sunday morning in a match where the biggest obstacle proved to be the flooded field. Chances came for both sides but the weather conditions and strong goalkeeping performances kept the match goalless.
PAS Giannina pulled off a remarkable 3-2 comeback victory over Volos to remain in third place. Volos opened the scoring only 38 seconds into the match through attacking midfielder Nicolas Oroz. Giannina defender and captain Giannis Kargas equalised in the 12th before former midfielder prodigy Sotiris Ninis regained the lead for the visitors with a spectacular bicycle kick (40’), which is a strong contender for goal of the season. In a heroic second half performance, striker Juan Jose Perea (57’) and defender Rodrigo Erramuspe (86’ pen.) overturned the deficit for Giannina in what was an outstanding match.

Panathinaikos returned to winning ways with a relatively comfortable 2-0 home success over Atromitos. League top scorer Carlitos opened the scoring (31’) after guiding his header into the bottom left corner for his ninth league goal this campaign. Argentinean winger Sebastian Palacios then guaranteed the three points in the 75th minute after his shot crept past keeper Andreas Gianniotis.
Ionikos managed to escape with a 2-2 draw after finding themselves two goals down, away to Panetolikos. The home took the lead through midfielder Javier Mendoza’s penalty (45+1’) and winger Frederico Duarte (68’). Ionikos got one back through midfielder Dalcio (71’) when they were dealt a huge blow through their captain Alaixys Romao’s second yellow send-off (75’). Miraculously, the Nikaia side managed an equaliser in the 90th through substitute Nikolaos Vafeas.
The match between Apollon Smyrnis and OFI was postponed after multiple players and staff from the “Light Brigade” club tested positive for COVID-19.
