Ekaterini Pavlidou, a chess player from Greece’s national team has gotten a bronze medal in the women’s blitz (quick chess) category at the European Blitz and Rapid Chess Championship in Katowice, Poland.

The tournament, originally planned to be held in Kazakhstan, took place from 26 to 30 December.

Pavlidou, 28, ended the tournament with a score of 2,177 points which is considered a great score among 510 chess players from 21 European federations.

The Greek player scored equal to second-placed Klaudia Kulon from Poland who had better tiebreak criteria.

Poland’s Sliwicka Alicja got the gold with a score of 2,155 and better tactics.
