Thanasi Kokkinakis and Nick Kyrgios have given their fans a spectacular win in men’s doubles at the Australian Open 2022 today.

Court 3 was at capacity at Melbourne Park while Kokkinakis and Kyrgios defeated fellow Australians Alex Bolt and James McCabe 6-4 6-2.

Kyrgios and Kokkinakis served 11 aces and conceded only six points across their nine service games.

Does Nick Kyrgios know any other way to seal a win? 😳 It had to be finished off with an exceptional ace. 🔥🔥#AusOpen – Live on Channel 9 and 9Now pic.twitter.com/NphHtDoMLH

It is possible now that the two former besties will have second-round showdown with the world’s top team.

Even though Kokkinakis states the two are more competitors than friends, they definitely worked wonders together.

Meanwhile, Greek world number four Stefanos Tsitsipas put on a show against familiar opponent Mikael Ymer of Sweden during a 6-2 6-4 6-3 victory in the opening round of his Australian Open campaign on Tuesday.

Tsitsipas is set to meet Argentina’s 21-year-old Sebastian Baez, ranked 88th, for a place in the third round.
