Multi champion archer, Elizabeth Hole, has added another achievement to her quiver as she was awarded the Masters Athlete of the Year in NSW for a second time.
The Athens-born bowwoman became a two-time winner in this category on Monday 24 January at the state’s Champions of Sports 2021 Awards Night, having previously earned the honour in 2018.
This is the latest success for the acclaimed archer who has competed both at home and abroad, earning many medals for her skill and prowess with the bow and arrow.
Ms Hole was very grateful for her nomination and subsequent victory in the NSW Sports Awards section.
“I am very pleased to announce that I won! Thank you to Archery NSW for the nomination. And Sport NSW for a great night!” Ms Hole posted on her Facebook page.
The event was held at CommBank Stadium, home of the Western Sydney Wanderers and Paramatta Eels, and it recognises the successes of NSW athletes, coaches, officials, administrators and organisations from all sports.
Ms Hole was born in Athens. She was born in Athens to a Greek mother, a resistance fighter, who met her father during the WW2, “but that is another story lol” as she had said to N.K. in a previous interview.
She has relatives in Greece whom she visits from time to time. She has lived in Aden, Yemen, and at the age of 13, when she lost her mother, she moved to England.
She came to Australia in the late ‘90s to support her ill sister and since then she has made Sydney her home.
