The Greek Community Home For The Aged raised funds and received a generous donation by Sophie Cotsis Member for Canterbury to acquire their second minibus to add to their fleet.

The total cost of the bus was $81,831.10. The bus has been fitted with a disabled access ramp for the home’s residents who have walking difficulties and require a wheelchair.

This much needed addition will ensure that the Greek Community Home For The Aged’s residents can continue to access the community, family outings and their many medical and therapeutic appointments.

The vehicle the home had been relying to date was not suitable for any licensed driver, instead requiring a heavy vehicle license, whereas the new bus can be driven by any staff member holding a current driver’s license.

“We ensure all our residents are secure, protected and support their independence, function, pleasure, and enjoyment,” the Greek Community Home For The Aged, said in an announcement thanking everyone who made this possible.
