It seems that everything that the Greek community in Australia was deprived of in terms of entertainment over the past two years, is finally happening in 2022.
A record number of Greek musicians and signers is expected to come to Australia, covering every genre and every taste.
The first big name to arrive Down Under is Giannis Kotsiras, who is already touring Australia to sold out audiences. His first live gigs were a huge success bringing joy to many Greek Australian fans that danced, and even cried together, enjoying some of the singer’s most iconic hits. His next concert will take place in Adelaide on Wednesday 9 March at Thebarton Theatre, followed by an appearance in Melbourne on Saturday 12 March at the Palais Theatre.

Panos Kalidis is also in Australia and gave an amazing performance at Kinisi Live in Melbourne over the weekend. Many young Greek Australians attended and danced the night away in a rain of flowers.

Meanwhile, folk music legend Giorgos Velissaris will also perform live on Saturday 12 March 2022 at Pontiaki Estia alongside clarinet player Vasilis Markopoulos.
The night will continue with laika by our own Doukisa accompanied by Anestis’ bouzouki and their orchestra (for bookings call Litsa Athanasiadis on 0421 804 968).

Melina Aslanidou, one of the most popular singers in Greece at the moment, will also hit the stage as part of the Greek Festival of Sydney and the Antipodes festival in Melbourne.
Aslanidou’s performance at Darling Harbour on 13 March has been postponed due to the floods, however, she is still scheduled to go on stage at Sydney’s Factory on 16 March and on 19 March she will give her much-anticipated concert in Melbourne.

In the coming months, even more artists are expected to visit Australia for live appearances. The list includes Stelios Dionysiou, Natasa Theodoridou, Pix Lax, Eleftheria Arvanitaki, Thanasis Polikandriotis, Giorgos Dalaras, Anna Vissi and Nikos Makropoulos to name a few.
