Melbourne will have the opportunity to enjoy a special concert by acclaimed Greek singer Dimitris Basis, on Saturday, 28 May 2022, at the prominent Stars International Hall in Preston.

The event is dedicated to the Hellenism of Asia Minor, the years of its prosperity but also to the years of uprooting from 1922 onwards.

In the first part of the evening, Dimitris Basis will perform compositions by Theodorakis, Markopoulos, Loizos, songs of Mitropanos and his own songs as well as traditional folk songs with strong ethnic references.

In the second part, Dimitris Basis will perform selected songs which were loved by Greeks worldwide.

An anniversary program of 40 pages sponsored by Greek businesses in Victoria, will be published with articles on Asia Minor and the Anatolia documenting Hellenic history, from the years of Alexander the Great.

Following the event hundreds of more copies published will be distributed.

The ticket price of $150 and $120 includes full dinner, with two bottles of wine on the table, sweets, soft drinks and coffee, whereas any surplus from the event will be allocated to research as well as to the Cultural Sponsorships and Scholarship Program of the Institute of Macedonian Studies.
