The Neos Kosmos family is mournng the loss of colleague and friend Kostas Paivanas.

Mr Paivanas joined Neos Kosmos in the early 1980s working in the advertising department.

With his big but at the same time subtle personality, he would infect everyone with his kindness and laughter.

His energy and honesty were respected and commended on by, without exaggeration, thousands of people.

Mr Paivanas also dabbled in journalism, with an eye and ear for a good story.

Some remember him for his unique, anecdotal jokes and sense of humour, others for his philanthropic contributions to the community and his genuine, honest empathy for others.

Outside of his many years at Neos Kosmos, Mr Paivanas served Melbourne’s Greek Community for decades wearing many hats.

Recently, he returned to his favourite city in Greece, Athens.

He did not get to fully enjoy and experience the beauties of Athens, betrayed by his health.

He passed away at the age of 85 on Wednesday 13 April 2022 at Evangelismos hospital in Athens, leaving behind his beloved wife Athena and his children.

He will always be remembered with love.
