Thousands of tsourekia are being made by volunteers for Greek Easter including the hardworking Philoptochos ladies at The Transfiguration of Our Lord Thomastown Parish.

As well as the tsourekia the volunteers have begun dying thousands of red eggs for Anastasi.

The perfume of mastiha, woke up the residents of Thomastown, especially those living near the parish on Catholic Easter Sunday as round and long tsourekia were being baked.

“Straight braid and round braid tsourekia with red eggs are being made. It was like a true factory production line,” volunteer Mary Lalios told Neos Kosmos.

“We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy as we head into Greek Orthodox Magali Evdomada.”
