Managing ‘big’ feelings and emotions is part of children’s lives and their ability to cope develops as they go through different age and maturity stages.
These ‘big feelings’ can be overwhelming for children and parents play a significant part in helping them navigate their way through in a constructive way.
‘Big’ feelings for children can include anxiety, fear, anger and sadness, inability to connect with peers or make friends.
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has added another challenging layer to children’s behaviour and emotions, at times making it difficult for parents to know how to help.
As an ethno-specific organisation working with the Australian Greek community, PRONIA supports individuals and families manage challenging circumstances.
To assist parents and families in this regard, PRONIA has partnered with Parentzone – Anglicare, to present ‘Dealing with big feelings’, an informative parenting webinar for pre-schoolers and primary school aged children.
‘Dealing with big feelings’ will address difficulties children may be having during these uncertain COVID times and beyond and will provide information and advice for parents.
The social and emotional wellbeing of children is vital for their mental health and their ability to develop resilience and coping skills as they grow and mature to become competent adults. This webinar will be a valuable aid for parents as they guide their children through these developing years.
We recognise that the impact of COVID-19 has affected families in a multitude of ways and presented challenges for parents that are not easy to navigate. Parents of children from 4 – 12 years old are encouraged to participate in this webinar for useful information and advice.
