George Kambosos Jr will meet his nemesis Devin Haney in a rematch to regain the undisputed world lightweight championship belt that he lost in an unanimous decision to in June.

Once again, Kambosos will have home advantage as the world title rematch will again take place in Melbourne this time at the Rod Laver Arena on 16 October.

Kambosos enforced the rematch clause in their fight contract that will bring the American back to Melbourne in a fight that the American said would add to his legacy.

Kambosos said at a Tuesday news conference announcing the coming fight that he would do his “talking” in the ring.

Haney said he expected the Greek-Australian to be better the second time after he lost to the American before a partisan 42,000 fans at Marvel Stadium on 5 June.

“I am expecting a hungry and determined Kambosos on 16 October in Melbourne. I will be prepared for any adjustment he brings. This is a great opportunity to gain more Aussie fans and add to my legacy,” Haney said.

Kambosos said his opponent was a good fighter and a good champion and that he looked forward to testing his skills against him.

“I am looking forward to 16 October at Rod Laver Arena and that is where I will do my talking,” Kambosos said.
