After cancellations due to government lockdowns and restrictions, the National Union of Greek Australian Students (NUGAS) committee exceeded expectations throwing its biggest ball yet on Sunday 11 September at Crown Palladium in Melbourne.
The event was sold-out and was deemed a huge success with over 800 guests filling the venue and treated to a night of luxury, fine food and flowing drinks while having the opportunity to be photographed walking the blue carpet.

“We were excited to show our members a NUGAS Ball like no other. Being unable to host our annual Gala for the last few years, we’ve got a lot of youth to experience what NUGAS has to offer,” NUGAS’ committee told Neos Kosmos.
“We still plan to maintain the best elements of all our past NUGAS Balls but we definitely had a few surprises in store like stepping up the luxury this year at one of Melbourne’s most prestigious and known locations – Crown Palladium.”

The Ball offered Greek music and dance entertainment throughout the night with Kostas Vardas, Steve Pavlidis, George Kirkopoulos, Andreas Koikas, Nick Tzitzivakos, Gav T, Nick Sofos and Angelo Triantafilopoulos performing alongside Club DJs Kosta Nico and Thomas Nico with MC George Ross.
The gala ended with an exclusive after party at Crown Therapy night Club for all guests which would not have been made possible without the generosity of its sponsors, PRONIA, Bank of Sydney and Korres. The surprise for the night featured Greek vocal artist Konstantinos Koufos and DJ Krazy Kon.
“We ask all youth to come support NUGAS and contribute to our rich history spanning over a half-century, as the largest Greek-Australian youth organisation nationwide. Whilst we are a Greek-Australian youth organisation, NUGAS welcomes students and friends from all backgrounds, institutions and universities. We couldn’t be more proud we were able to offer an unforgettable experience.”
