Archbishop Makarios of Australia met with Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Maximos Mansion in Athens on Tuesday, 13 September (local time).
During the meeting, Mitsotakis and Archbishop Makarios spoke about Hellenism in Australia, and the role of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia in supporting and preserving Greek diaspora.
At the end of the meeting Mitsotakis reiterated his support for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, thanking Archbishop Makarios for his work.
Archbishop Makarios also met with Greece’s Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias, last week to discuss “the precious spiritual work of the Archdiocese and its contribution in strengthening relations with the Greek diaspora in Australia”.
