PRONIA’s Radiothon was back this weekend with the community generously donating a total of $100,500.

The annual charity event took place for the first time in three years after the pandemic. The timing was even more significant as the organisation celebrates its 50th anniversary.

“The more we receive from donations, the more we can give to the community, to people of all ages. It is a constant circle of goodwill and it has helped us continue our work” Tina Douvos-Stathopoulos, CEO of PRONOIA said leading up to the event.

The Radiothon, which was broadcast by radio station 3XY, was held on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 October from 9am to 9pm.

Hundreds showed their support by joining the team in their Brunswick office or simply picking up the phone and making their contribution.

Many of the organisation’s programs run largely thanks to community philanthropy, financial support from businesses and government grants.

For five decades now, PRONIA has been providing specialist services, care for the elderly and younger people with disabilities, counselling services, advocacy, children’s services, community education and information provision.
