The Piraeus giants’ European journey officially concluded much as it began, with a loss to FC Nantes, leaving them to crash out in last place without a single victory.
Olympiacos lost 0-2 to the French club at “Georgios Karaiskakis” Stadium in the sixth and final matchday of the Europa League on Friday morning, seeing them finish fourth with only two points.

All eyes are on Olympiacos this weekend as they look to bring an end to their hated rivals’ perfect winning streak, while Panathinaikos have the chance to truly cement their title credentials.
The “Trifylli” hosts the Piraeus outfit on Monday morning (AEDT) in the first “derby of the eternal enemies” of Greek football this season, with the 11th round fixture presenting the Greens with their most difficult opponent before the World Cup break.
Panathinaikos surprisingly comes into this contest as favourites, with the current champions losing once again in Europe midweek and being ten points behind their rivals, which could put more pressure on them to win after spending years as the underdog in this fight.
AEK will be rooting for the Red and Whites as they seek to close the gap between themselves and the league leaders when they travel away to play Asteras Tripolis.
Panetolikos faces Levadiakos at home and the Agrinio club will be keen to snap a four-match winless run which has stymied what was a promising start to their campaign.
