The anxious wait for year 12 students is over as VCE results were released at 7am this morning.
Almost 50,000 VCE students have received their marks today, the class of 2022 achieving the best result in three years.
After challenging circumstances in light of lockdowns and remote learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s school leavers are the first to complete their final year uninterrupted by public health measures since the crisis began.
Oakleigh Grammar announced its School Dux for the year, Luke Mickelson, achieving an ATAR of 97.75 with study scores over 40 in Physics, Further Mathematics, Specialists Mathematics and Mathematical Methods.
The high achiever is hoping to pursue a Science/Engineering Degree at the University of Melbourne.
The school’s Dux Proximus, the second highest achieving student is Maria Andreou with an ATAR of 96.15; she obtained study scores over 40 in English, Greek, Legal Studies and Psychology.
Maria is aspiring to undertake an Arts Degree at the University of Melbourne.
13 per cent of Oakleigh Grammar’s graduates received ATAR’s over 90, placing them in the top 10 per cent of the country. 26 per cent of their students achieved marks putting them in the top 20 per cent nationwide while 52 per cent of their pupils are in the top 30 per cent of the nation’s results.
Oakleigh Grammar’s acting Co-Principal Lance Ryan recognised their students’ achievements saying:
