South Australia has another Greek Australian joining the clergy, following John Saredakis’ ordainment as Deacon by Archbishop Makarios of Australia on Wednesday, 30 November at the Greek Orthodox Parish of St Andrew in Noarlunga.
This ordainment has been Mr Saredakis’ heartfelt desire for many years, since graduating from St George College back in 2003 where he has been teaching for 11 years.
The newly ordained Deacon, who is highly respected at St George College among students and teachers will continue to teach in 2023 having joined the Holy Diaconate.
Father Jeremy, Father Daniel, Father Nick, Father Christos and Father Kon, as well as work colleagues from St George College, community members, family and friends were all in attendance to witness the ceremony.
