The volunteer team of the Greek Welfare Centre in Northcote, Melbourne operating under the auspices of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese have reached out to express gratitude for all those who have generously donated so far in the 2022 Christmas appeal.
The annual appeal will conclude next Friday 23 December assisting numerous families in need through services ranging from the offering of regular groceries to clothing and blankets for people experiencing homelessness.
Providing cooked meals this Christmas will be a priority, the volunteer team says in a statement.

“Melbourne Greeks have been supporting the appeal for the last 25 years donating food items and providing help in any possible way to help this humanitarian initiative.
“Their help has been invaluable and and their continuous support appreciated.
“There are fellow humans doing it tough. There’s no doubt about this, the problem is real.
“Let us unite once again like we do every year and make a difference to someone.”
Those who wish to donate groceries, can do so between 10am-5pm Monday to Friday directly at the Greek Welfare Centre premises located at the Axion Esti Holy Monastery, 7 Hartington St, Northcote, 3070.
Supermarket online orders and deliveries are also accepted during those times.
You can also give your local parish a call to deliver your donation there.
