It would have been her first visit to Australia since 2017.
Paola – for many Greece’s queen of contemporary laiko – had an Australian tour scheduled for September 2022 with concerts lined up for Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth.
But news about the tour’s cancellation at the 11th hour are reportedly still a source of disappointment for some fans who have been waiting for their ticket purchases to be refunded.
Individual ticketholders who reached out to Neos Kosmos in recent weeks from different cities claim having spent collectively over $15,000 for group ticket purchases and said they had repeatedly reached out to the organisers for reimbursement.
Neos Kosmos contacted the Australian tour promoter for an update on the progress of refunds who responded that he did not wish to provide comment.
Within days of that communication, some of the ticketholders who had reached out, contacted us again to inform us that their refunds had been processed.
A separate ticketholder earlier this week claimed that during a phone conversation they initiated with the tour organiser they were told that the concerts would be rescheduled, with 12 May 2023 set as the starting date but that they were denied a written confirmation when they requested it.
At the time of publishing, Neos Kosmos has not been able to confirm that a new tour will take place or whether any new discussions are underway between Paola’s management team and the promoter of the cancelled tour.
In a previous communication with a representative of the singer’s management team in early December, Neos Kosmos was told that the tour was cancelled by the Australian promoter who “cited an unexpected business financial problem as the reason.”
