Father Lefteris has announced that he will hold a Blessing of the Waters ceremony on the Holy Epiphany day in Rye.
Father Lefteris released a statement with his intentions to conduct the blessing of the waters ceremony.
“For the 36th time Father Lefteris and the Board of the Agios Paisios Brotherhood invite Hellenism and especially our youth to the paniyiri of the Holy Cross on the Rye Pier that will take place after a two year pause.
“Father Lefteris and the Board wish everyone in the Community Hronia Polla and may the New Year be filled with Love, Peace, Health, Unity and Hope,” his statement said.
Father Lefteris’ liturgy will be held on Thursday, 5 January between 9 and 11am followed by a Mikros Agiasmos at the Dromana Community Hall (2A Verdon St, Dromana). On Friday, 6 January the Major Agiasmos Liturgy will be held at the Rye Park at 11am following by the Holy Cross blessing while the Blessing of the Waters and the dive to retrieve the Holy Cross will take place at 12pm.
Following the end of the ceremony the Greek Paniyiri will kick off with music by Dj Joe.
