Ahead of another year of language education, the team behind the Greek Community of Melbourne’s (GOCMV) language and cultural school have been preparing with excitement.

“It’s an opportunity to share in a unique experience, where students will be reuniting with friends and discover new ones through their shared journey learning about one of the worlds most influential languages. The program’s effectiveness is attested to every year by the outstanding performance of our VCE students in their exams in both Ancient and Modern Greek,” they say.

The school’s courses cater to age groups from kindergarten to adult education, with interactive teaching methods deployed to provide a stimulating learning environment that encourages and supports its students.

The GOCMV’s language schools, covering both metropolitan Melbourne and outer suburbs boast decades of experience in the field of Greek-language education and a holistic approach to teaching incorporating modules on Music and Dance, Theatre Education, History and Culture.

Students are offered learning opportunities beyond theoretical knowledge, invited to get to know Greek culture through a series of activities, excursions, special events and celebrations which foster an understanding of culture through participation.

In addition to its classes on Ancient and Modern Greek the Community offers two Schools of Greek language and Culture for advanced students, the “ELA” Greek Program for children aged 18 months to four years old and a series of online Greek language programs for beginners open to anyone interested, regardless of age or location.
