Six hooligans charged with a spate of offences over their roles in the pitch invasion which took place during a derby match between Melbourne City and Melbourne Victory in December last year have faced court.

Megan Collins, Peter Kostopoulos, Ricardo Di Marco, Shane Marino, Vincent Marinucca and Jake White appeared before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The Herald Sun reports that several of the above-mentioned defendants intend to tender guilty pleas in relation to the charges.

Mr Kostopoulos, one of a number of men accused of assaulting Melbourne City goalkeeper Thomas Glover; applied for a sentencing indication in the case that he did plead guilty to his charges.

A number of other participants in the pitch invasion, who have not yet appeared before the Magistrates’ Court are expected to be sentenced on May 17.

Alex Agelopoulos, also accused of assaulting Glover, was due to face court on Monday, however his case was administratively adjourned.

The 23-year-old from Northcote gained a degree of notoriety when police released images of him brandishing a metal bucket which was allegedly used in the assault of the goalkeeper.

Agelopoulos is charged with eight offences including intentionally causing injury, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, disrupting a match and entering a sporting competition space.
