A beautifully appointed Surf Coast home rented for the last two years by tennis champ Mark “Scud” Philippoussis has gone on the market, with an asking price between $3.4 and $3.7 million.

The tennis pro and former world number eight moved into the newly renovated beach-side house in 2020 at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic when he and his family relocated from San Diego, USA.

Speaking with Domain Philippoussis mentioned the location’s proximity to the beachfront as one of his favourite parts of the place.

“How amazing it’s been to check the waves from your balcony… then simply walk across the road for a surf,” he said.

The four-bedroom home at 23 Carnavon Avenue, Jan Juc, nestled in the beach town’s so called “golden triangle,” is situated only 200 metres from the beach.

Philippoussis, a two-time Grand Slam runner up reentered the limelight recently due to his association with Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, becoming a fixture in the young star’s Australian Open camp.

He was recently the subject of a minor gaffe when his backhander returns in a legends double match at the AO made contact with a ball kid kneeling by the court’s sideline.

Not to be perturbed, the Aussie legend made sure the young volunteer wasn’t too rattled, while feigning annoyance, much to the crowd’s amusement.
