Neos Kosmos, the leading Greek-Australian newspaper, has made its commitment to supporting the Voice for Parliament initiative clear. We in Neos Kosmos believe it is the right thing, and the truly Hellenic virtue to vote for a First Nations Voice to Parliament.

However, as with many Australians, some Greek Australians remain unconvinced about the proposal, which is why it’s important to gather as much information as possible.

To further the conversation, Reconciliation Victoria will be hosting the inaugural National Reconciliation Week (NRW) breakfast on May 30 at The Centre Ivanhoe.

The event will feature special guest speaker Aunty Jill Gallagher AO, who will discuss the upcoming Voice referendum and reflect on this year’s NRW theme: Be a Voice for Generations.

NRW statement says it “aims to honour the work of generations, past and present, who have fought for justice and invites all Australians to work together to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation for generations to come.”

National Reconciliation Week takes place from May 27 to June 3 and provides an opportunity for everyone to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how we can all contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
