Generosity and goodwill were in full swing last Sunday as AHEPA Victoria’s Unit Athena hosted their annual Ladies Luncheon, a fundraising event that brings together women from all walks of life to support a worthy cause.
The event was a resounding success, thanks to the community’s generosity and goodwill.
Attended by more than 300 women, they raised $10,500 for the Cornelia Program run by the Royal Women’s Hospital Melbourne, which provides accommodation and healthcare services for pregnant women experiencing homelessness or insecure housing.\

This program is close to the hearts of Unit Athena, and their fundraising efforts have been instrumental in its success in 2022 and 2023.
The event at Merrimu Receptions in Murrumbeena, was hosted by the dynamic duo of Mary Mitrakas and Mary Calombaris, who led the charge with their infectious energy and passion for the cause.

The guest speaker was Sally Coutts, the Manager of the Cornelia Program at the Royal Women’s Hospital, who inspired the audience with her insights and vision.
Penny Natsioulas, AHEPA Victoria State President, and Maria Kavouris, AHEPA Victoria State Incorporation Secretary were also in attendance.

Unit Athena thanked everyone for their contribution stating that it looks forward to the next fundraising event, that will not only bring the community together but also provide an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on society.
