Joined by Metropolitan Ieronymos of Larissa and Tyrnavos, the resident cleric, as well as Father Ignatios Mourtzanos, the Chancellor of the Metropolis, and other members of the clergy from the Holy Metropolis, the Archbishop led the service with deep reverence.

Also in attendance was Georgios Manolis, the Mayor of Tempe, who participated in the memorial event.

Following the Trisagion, Archbishop Makarios paid his respects by laying flowers at the site of the accident, extending condolences and prayers that will bring comfort for the grieving relatives of the victims, some of whom reside in Australia.
