A 75-year-old British woman, Susan Hart, has gone missing while visiting the Greek island of Kalymnos.

She disappeared on April 30 after taking a ferry to the island of Telendos with her husband and friends. While her companions went rock climbing, Hart had planned to read a book at a restaurant. However, when they returned, she was nowhere to be found.

As reported by Daily Mail, Hart and her husband, who reside in Switzerland but frequently visit Kalymnos, were on their first trip back since the pandemic began. Concerned about her mother’s disappearance, Hart’s daughter, Bethan Blackwell, flew from Canada to Greece and made a desperate plea for help.

Officials, along with Hart’s daughters, the coast guard, and volunteers, launched a search for her. However, despite their efforts and the hiring of private search services, there has been no trace of Hart.

Bethan and her sisters Ella, 43, from London, and Ruth, 45, who lives in Australia, have kept up the search.

“My sister lives in Australia, so she contacted the Australian Consulate as well to see if they would put any pressure. Ed contacted the Swiss, but they said because she’s not a Swiss citizen there was nothing they could do.”

Adding to the family’s distress, local news reports wrongly claimed that Hart had been found dead, a claim vehemently denied by Blackwell and the search parties.

The family has faced obstacles in obtaining CCTV footage from the police, and Blackwell expressed frustration with the lack of assistance.

She also raised concerns about her mother’s health, suspecting dementia but without a formal diagnosis.

On social media, Hart’s other daughter, Ruth Landale, called for help and criticised the local police for their insufficient support.

The family remains hopeful that someone in the small community may have witnessed something and urges the public to provide any information that could aid in finding Hart, emphasizing her vulnerability due to her dementia.
