The Kastellorizian Association of Victoria (KAV) would like to share that nominations for the 2023 Kastellorizan of the Year Award will close soon on July 1.

Since 1993, one inspirational role model is awarded for achieved excellence in their chosen field and bringing honour to the Kastellorizian, Greek and/or Australian community.

The successful awardee will be notified by 14 August 2023, will be presented with it by the KAV President at the annual Kastellorizian of the Year Gala, to be held on October 14.

Last year’s winner was Lilliane Gomatos, who the association said “epitomises the importance of grassroots welfare of Kastellorizians and Greeks in Darwin, personifying the spirit of the original Kazzie philotimo – brotherhood”.

She was also recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2019 for her contribution to Australia’s vibrant multicultural society.
