The state government has announced that more than 1,000 multicultural seniors’ organisations will benefit from the Multicultural Seniors Support program.
Seniors from multicultural communities have been supported through the program that has ran from 2021.
An investment of $2000 is being provided to each community group to deliver social and cultural activities, purchase equipment and establish digital support networks.
Minister for Multicultural Affairs Colin Brooks says multicultural Victorians are an important part of our community.
“We know multicultural Victorians makes enormous contribution to our state – and I commend all the organisations delivering programs that provide genuine connections and support for senior community members,” Brooks said.
“We’re proud to fund activities and services that promote the wellbeing of thousands of multicultural seniors in Victoria.”
Applications for this round have closed, but for those who have applied or are interested in the future, you can find more information at https://www.vic.gov.au/multicultural-seniors-support-program.This grant is available each financial year, with up to $8000 per organisation.
Those apart of the program will also benefit from free public liability insurance and group accident cover.
