The Greek Community of Melbourne present an audio-visual performance by Greek act That Changes, at the Greek Centre Melbourne.

The event is on Saturday July 1 at 7pm, at 168 Lonsdale Street, with tickets at $20, or $18 for Greek Community members.

Titled ‘9’, the 55-minute performance consists of nine songs representing the “esoteric meaning of personal growth and enlightenment”.

The aim is for the audience to interpret their own experience, with each song accompanied by unique visuals.

Symbolic elements exploring the ideas of political awareness, overconsumption, environmental degradation, systemic socio-political weaknesses, and human interconnectedness.

That Changes are a Melbourne based music duo consisting of Kostas Veligos and Spiros Antoniades, both of whom have been involved with various bands and projects in the last 30 years.

Kostas has played bass and guitar in Greece, and for Melbourne based band Gale’s Edge.

He also delves in photography and video.

Spiros was the percussionist of Xylouris Ensemble, a prominent Melbourne band in the 90’s.

The band was nominated for two ARIA Awards but after band member George Xylouris moved back to Greece, Spiros joined a number of other bands through the years.

He participated in film soundtracks, with the most known being the multi award-winning film One Night the Moon and also took part in Golden Fleece, stories of immigration inspired by the myth of Jason and the Argonauts.
