During a cultural exchange initiative, twenty-five young Greek Australians, accompanied by their guides, embarked on a visit to the Municipality of Kavala last Friday morning.
This experience aiming to enrich the students’ connection with Greece was made possible through the hospitality program organised by the Christian Brotherhood of Thessaloniki Youth.
The initiative signifies “the unbreakable bonds that unite Greek communities across the globe, celebrating their shared heritage and fostering a sense of connection and understanding”.

Under the carefully crafted itinerary devised by the Christian Brotherhood, the youths are set to explore various captivating regions of Central and Eastern Macedonia, immersing themselves in the local culture and savouring the gastronomy of the area.
During their visit to Kavala, Apostolos Moutzakis, Deputy Mayor of Education and Culture, took the opportunity to enlighten the visitors about the city’s history and the architectural splendor of its neoclassical buildings.
The Deputy Mayor painted a vivid picture, in an effort to foster a deeper appreciation for the cultural heritage of Kavala adding that as these Greek Australians embark on their journey of exploration, they carry with them the spirit of cultural exchange and the eagerness to forge lasting connections between their ancestral homeland and their Australian roots.
