In a heart-wrenching incident, a 41-year-old livestock farmer from Platanistos, Evia, who had gone missing on Sunday while checking on his animals, has been discovered dead.
According to reports from MEGA, the farmer’s charred body was found inside a hut, where it appears he had become trapped amidst the raging wildfire.
The discovery of the farmer’s body was made by the man’s relatives, who immediately alerted the police and have expressed their belief that it is indeed him.
DNA tests will be conducted on the remains. The area has been grappling with devastating wildfires for several days, and firefighters have been putting in relentless efforts to contain the blaze in southern Evia.
