Cypriot MMA fighter Charalamois “The Ferocious” Grigoriou is officially a member of UFC roster after a lightning TKO victory.

Grigoriou went head-to-head with American Cameron Smotherman in the first fight of Week 2 in the Dana White Contender Series.

The series is used to scout fighters for the UFC, the number one MMA promotion.

All it took was less than a minute for the Cypriot to get the win via TKO, and now with the win, he has earned a contract with the UFC.

Prior to the fight, Grigoriou predicted exactly how it will end.

“If you see my record, I have like five knockouts over seven wins. Most likely, it’s going to be a knockout. I have only two decisions, and I like exciting fights and I like to put on a show. And I hit hard,” he told Cageside Press.

He also wanted to make sure Dana White, UFC President, notices him, which he clearly has now with the impressive victory.

“I’m not going to give him a choice. I’m going to go in there, and he’s going to be— he’ll see. I’m not going to give him a choice, to think (about it).”

‘Ferocious’ took to social media to tell his fans and home nation, “Cyprus we made it” and that “dreams come true”.

He now becomes the sole Cypriot fighter in the UFC currently.

The win takes US based, but hailing from Paphos, Grigoriou to an 8-3-0 record, having won his last four fights. One of those fights was a fifth-round finish to claim the Combat FC bantamweight championship.

The champion was supposed to defend his title but signing with the series meant he has to cancel the fight, for bigger things are now on the horizon.
