The Greek Community of Melbourne and the Hellenic Medical Society of Australia, received representatives from Pronia and Fronditha Care at the Greek Centre in Melbourne last week.
During the jointly held event, a grand fundraising gala was agreed upon, aimed at lending support to the two leading community organisations. Fronditha Care and Pronia both received $9,000 each.
The money was raised across the Hellenic Medical Conference last November, with the majority being raised from the Ball held at that time.
Fronditha, well known for its aged and residential care with a Greek cultural heritage, and Pronia, which offers a comprehensive array of ethno-specific support services, were the focus of discussions, with the aim to empower every member of the community to lead their lives in alignment with their aspirations.
President of the Hellenic Medical Society of Australia, Marinis Pirpiris, in praising both organisations, underscored their “unwavering commitment to innovation and continual enhancement in service delivery”.
He further emphasised “the vital role that Pronia and Fronditha Care play within an inclusive sector that holds community traditions, cultural customs, and personal beliefs in high regard.”
Accepting the donations on behalf of Pronia were Elpis Korosidis, President of the Board, and Tina Douvos Stathopoulos, CEO of Pronia.
On the side of Fronditha Care, Kosta Livadaras, Treasurer, and Faye Spiteri, CEO, stated that they were honoured to receive donations from the Greek Community of Melbourne and the Hellenic Medical Society of Australia.
The Greek Community of Melbourne, recognised the “indispensable services offered by these organisations, which aptly cater to the demand for culturally aligned assistance”.
President of the Greek Community of Melbourne , Bill Papastergiadis underscored the importance of the collaborative endeavours, which foster a shared comprehension of issues, needs, and potential solutions within the community.
He stressed that such collaborations significantly enhance the capacity to uplift and support the community as a united force, stating that continuing their commitment, the Greek Community of Melbourne has dedicated itself to perpetually supporting Hellenic Welfare Organisations, with plans underway to initiate fundraising efforts for Agapi Care in the early months of the upcoming year.
