Greek welfare organisation PRONIA which has been at the forefront of combating family violence for the past 35 years, is launching a new initiative called the PRONIA Foundation against Family Violence.

The aim for PRONIA is to build capacity to deliver more targeted and intense interventions, with the ultimate goal of ensuring the safety of women and children affected by family violence providing critical services such as counselling, judicial advocacy, and financial aid.

It is the prevalence of this phenomenon in the Greek-Australian community that has called for a more independent and comprehensive program designed to bolster PRONIA’s existing services. It will focus on delivering immediate, specialised support to those in need.

To support the launch of the PRONIA Foundation against Family Violence and raise funds, PRONIA is holding a special cocktail party on Friday, November 10, at the Atrium, Brunswick Town Hall.

“PRONIA has assisted over 1300 women and children impacted by Family Violence in the last ten years, and we intend to do more,” Tina Douvos Stathopoulos, PRONIA’s CEO said.

“We will continue to invest in initiatives that will strengthen our service response to victims of family violence. We look forward to working with our stakeholders and government to meet our objectives. Your participation in this event will contribute significantly to achieving this goal. The cocktail party is not just a social gathering; it’s an investment in our community’s well-being. By attending and contributing, you are making a commitment to help the victims of family violence. Together, we will take a united stand against this pervasive issue, working diligently to address and eliminate it from our community.”

Tickets for the Cocktail Party can be purchased online or by calling PRONIA at (03) 9388 9998 and speaking with the marketing department.
