“The turnout of people exceeded all our expectations”, said the president of the Greek Community of Oakleigh, Chris Damatopoulos.
The panegyric atmosphere and the many that attended placed Oakleigh Glendi back on the events calendar after a hiatus due to the pandemic years.
Expressing optimism, the president anticipated an even larger turnout in the upcoming days.
“Not only is the attendance significant, but the palpable enjoyment within the Greek Australian community brings us immense joy,” added Damatopoulos.
Oakleigh Glendi boasts live musicians, a variety of Greek folk dance groups, a competitive loukoumades contest, and a raffle offering two return airline tickets to Greece.

The festival’s array of food stalls provides an assortment of Greek delights, including gyros, loukoumades, coffee, and other traditional beverages, as well as diverse products and services.
The event features activities and games for children, promising a weekend of Greek family celebrations.
The park also offers comfortable setting with ample seating arrangements, allowing all attendees to thoroughly relish the festivities.
