The Pallaconian Youth Committee was awarded a High Commendation at the 2023 Merri-bek City Council Community Awards Ceremony, held on October 31.
As nominees for Youth Contribution to community award the members were recognised for their charity and volunteer initiatives, their active promotion of culture and the arts within the local community. The Pallaconian youths were also commended on fostering cultural identity among the younger generation of Greek Australians.
Former Youth President Miltiadis Paikopoulos and Former Youth Vice President Andrew Christopoulos, received the award from Cr Lambros Tapinos, on behalf of the committee, expressing gratitude in a brief statement to the volunteers whose contributions were integral to the committee’s social, cultural, educational, and philanthropic endeavors throughout the past six years.
The Pallaconian Brotherhood of Melbourne and Victoria extended heartfelt congratulations to the members of the Youth Committed, for their accomplishment.
“We congratulate our youth on this well-deserved achievement, which is a testament to the passion, hard work, and dedication they have consistently demonstrated.
“We would also like to congratulate all other nominees and winners at the awards ceremony on their notable achievements and contributions to the vibrant local community.”
