Food safety authorities in Australia have issued a warning of potential health risk associated with an incorrectly labelled Greek tzatziki product.
Manufacturing and distributing company Quality Food World Pty Ltd announced on Friday it would recall its Fifya Greek Tzatziki product, which is sold by Coles local shops, IGA supermarkets and other independent retailers Australia-wide.
Milk is included in the ingredients list and product, but the recalled batch bears a ‘dairy free’ label on its lid.

“Any consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” Food Standards Australia and New Zealand said.
Products with the non-compliant labelling have a “best before” date of 30 April 2024 and 30 May 2024.
The NSW government’s Food Authority has also issued a notice on the recall, urging consumers to return the product for a full refund and those with milk allergies and intolerance to refrain from consuming the product.
The Fifya Greek Tzatziki dip product was sold by retailers in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.
