Year 12 students across the state received their VCE results on Monday morning, bringing their secondary schooling to a close.

Alphington Grammar School proudly congratulated the Class of 2023 following the release of exemplary individual results and a solid overall performance as a cohort.

The 2023 School Dux has been revealed to be Costa Magiris with an ATAR of 98.75, placing him in the top 2 per cent of all students in the state. Costa achieved outstanding results in English, Further Maths, Physics, Maths Methods, Greek and Data Analytics. Magiris plans to study a double degree in Science at the University of Melbourne. The Dux Proximus was announced as Rudra Sekhri, who achieved an ATAR of 98.5.

Overall, the Class of 2023 at Alphington Grammar earned admirable results, with the cohort achieving a median study score of 33 and an average ATAR of 79.5, well exceeding the state average.

A remarkable 57.5 per cent of the class received an ATAR above 80, placing them in the top 20 per cent of the state, and 16 per cent earned a study score of 40 and above.

Scores above 40 were achieved in English, Chemistry, Physics, Maths Methods, General Maths, Psychology, Business Management, Visual Communications and Design, Health and Human Development, and English as Another Language.

In addition, two students received perfect 50s as part of their results: Year 12 student Alec Iddon in General Maths and Year 11 student Joudy Sallam in Business Management.

Principal Dr Vivianne Nikou expresses her praise and congratulations in a letter to the school community.

“These are indeed excellent scores from our students who not only excelled in their final results but also led full lives contributing across the school,” her letter read.

“This set of results should give all our students the self-belief to aim high, knowing they can excel no matter what challenges come their way.”
