Marcellin College’s Jack Voulgaris is one of 39 students to achieve a perfect ATAR of 99.95.
Jack Voulgaris tells Neos Kosmos that he expected to score high but didn’t think he’d get a perfect ATAR.
“I was expecting something close to that, but not quite 99.95. So, I was a little bit surprised, pleasantly surprised when I saw it.”
He said that doing two Year 12 subjects last year went a long way in helping him with the difficult year.
“That definitely prepared me for this year, and I knew that especially English was going to be a lot of work, so I really put in a lot of time and effort with that one and worked my teachers a lot.”
Jack achieved a perfect study score of 50 in Chemistry a 48 in English and a 46 in Physics.

Back in July, he was recognised in the at the Premier’s VCE Awards for a perfect scoring in Biology and Mathematical Methods last year.
Now Voulgaris plans to accept his offer from The University of Melbourne, to study Biomed, and then hopes to do medicine after that.
“I’ve always been pretty set on medicine. It’s been solidified over the past couple of years, but it’s always been a general goal for me.”
Some other Greek Australian students who scored 99.95 were Penleigh and Essendon Grammar School’s Chloe Petranis and Mazenod College’s Alexander Tsipos.
Melbourne Grammar’s Alexander Petro Georgiou was one of seven students in the state to receive a study score of 50 in three subjects, and achieved an ATAR of 99.85.

Melbourne Girls Grammar students Zoe Fourlanos and Zoe Vlahos both scored an outstanding 99.80, while on the boy’s side, Melbourne Grammar’s Alexander Petro Georgiou and Christopher Michael Arabatzis were among the top achievers (it remains unknown what their score was but it is likely they achieved over 99 based on their Study Scores).

McKinnon Secondary College school captain Victoria Polites‘ score of 98.95 puts her in good stead to achieve her target of studying medicine at university.
