Irene Anesti is stepping down after years of service as President of the Organisation of Hellene and Hellene Cypriots of Australia (OEEGA NSW).

Ms Anesti, who has served with the organisation for several decades, is standing down from the top position following a decision made by the Executive Council, with health reasons said to also have been a factor.

Ms Poppy Skalkos will be taking her place as the new President of the association.

Ms Anesti will, however, still hold a place in OEEGA NSW after the Executive Board made a unanimous decision to make her the Honorary President.

She is expected to aid the Board of Directors in helping Ms Skalkos settle into her presidential role.

The new Board of Directors is:

President – Poppy Skalkos

Vice President – Vicky Sirius

Honorary President – Irene Anesti

Secretary – Sylvia Tserdanis

Assistant Secretary – Ivi Georgakakos

Treasurer – Chrysanthi Petridis

Assistant Treasurer – Christina Kalligas

Public Relations – Dimitra Skalkos

Members – Despina Kekatou, Katerina Vali, Soula Gerasimou, Litsa Diakovassilis
