The Let’s Go Greek Festival has been given a healthy boost by the City of Parramatta Council in Sydney as they announced the community event as the beneficiary of a $10,000 grant for next year.

This is in line with the latest batch of grant funding designated as part of the Council’s community and environmental educational grants programs.

The Festival is one of five schools and 43 local community groups sharing in more than $512,700 worth of funds aimed at supporting initiatives of Parramatta’s diverse community.

These include migrant and youth activities, educational programs such as water safety education and resources to build better social connections within the Parramatta area.

City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Pierre Esber stressed the important of supporting the work of the various community organisation, volunteer groups, sporting clubs and social enterprises through the community grants program.

“This is an investment in the groups who invest so much of their own time and energy in making our community so special,” Mr Esber said.

“Our people are the backbone of our community and we recognise the time and hard work involved to deliver these services.”
