Last week, there were several friendly games. The Greek Community Cup successfully kicked off last Sunday in Springvale South, Victoria.
The day before that, on Saturday, an exciting match was played between Heidelberg United and the Western Uniteds under 23 team, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Heidelberg United is the busiest team among the “Blue and White” clubs in Victoria.
They are competing in the Greek Cup, hosting Melbourne City at Heidelberg West on Saturday, January 20. They will also be traveling to Queensland to participate in the Hellenic Cup Tournament, along with Olympic QLD, Sydney Olympic, and Darwin Olympic.
This off season, the Port Melbourne Sharks have been extremely active, continuously signing new players at a rapid pace to renew their roster in depth.
The Port Melbourne club signed two new players last week. Georgy Shalamanov – Trenkov and Amanhom Khamis.
ShalamanovTrenkov, who has a Bulgarian background and fulfilled his dream of signing for Slavia Sofia, a club in the first division of the Bulgarian championship, was born in Brisbane. He plays as a defensive midfielder and is known for his dynamic and speedy style.
Amanhom Khamis plays as a central defender. Last season he was with Moreland City and has previously played for Brisbane Roar, Macarthur, and Melbourne Victory’s youth teams.
The Oakleigh Cannons camp has been shrouded in silence as they quietly make strategic moves in the transfer market.
Fans are left with burning questions and impatient anticipation as they eagerly await their favorite club’s next move.
The team’s roster will definitely undergo significant changes this season. The club boasts the best scouting department in the NPL, ensuring that they find the most talented footballers who can truly make an impact in the league.
It will be very intriguing to see how Chris Taylor finalizes the roster for 2024.
