Applications for NEOPMAK’s annual subsidised programs in Cyprus for 18-30 years are now officially open as part of its initiative to help diaspora Cypriots connect with their heritage, learn about their homeland as well as learn Greek.
NEPOMAK (Νεολαία Παγκόσμιας Ομοσπονδίας Αποδήμων Κυπρίων Αυστραλίας και Νέα Ζηλανδίας), the Organisation for Young Overseas Cypriots, is running two different programs during the period of July 1-22, which people can apply for until February 4.
The programs on offer are heavily subsidised, the majority of the costs covered by NEPOMAK with support from the Government of Cyprus and the Youth Board of Cyprus.
Anyone wishing to apply must fit a certain age range (depending on the program), have at least one Cypriot grandparent and also be a registered member of NEPOMAK, with anyone interested in becoming one able to do so at nepomak.org/signup.
The first of these being offered is the NEPOMAK Discover Cyprus Program (NDCP), a three-week long initiative in which participants will learn about Cyprus by taking Greek language classes, visiting historic sites, and experiencing the best nightlife that the island has to offer.
This is open to people aged 18-22 with the cost of accommodation, excursions, course fees and partial flight fares covered by the organisation.
Applications must be completed before Sunday February 4 via this link.
The other initiative is the NEPOMAK Cyprus Culture Tour (NCCT), a ten-day trip in which you will explore Cyprus through professional tours and authentic experiences.
This includes enjoying Cypriot cuisine, exploring ancient places, and broadly experiencing the island’s natural beauty.
This is open to people aged 23-30 with the cost of accommodation, activities, and travel during the tour subsidised by the organisation.
Applications must be completed before Sunday February 4 via this link.
Further updates will be posted by the organisation on their various social media pages (Instagram and Facebook: NEPOMAK.Aus.NZ).
In addition to becoming a member, the organisation encourages anyone interested in registering their interest locally with NEPOMAK Australia and New Zealand through the following link.
