The South Australian Multicultural Commission is tasked with providing counsel to the South Australian government, the Commission relies on the tapestry of cultures, skills, and experiences of its members.
The Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Zoe Bettison said in a statement that it is “a pleasure to announce the opening of expressions of interest to fill vacancies for up to 15 positions on the Commission, effective from 1st July 2024.”
These vacancies include both Chair and Member positions, each offering a term of up to three years.
The Commission is seeking individuals who are committed to embracing and celebrating the cultural diversity of our South Australia.
“Candidates with a profound understanding of multicultural communities, actively engaged within their communities or the multicultural sector, and driven by a desire to effect positive change are encouraged to apply for this esteemed opportunity,” said Bettison in her statement.
Commission members will serve as advocates for multicultural communities, “amplifying their voices and ensuring their concerns, needs, and aspirations are effectively communicated to the government.”
Members will also play a role in providing strategic advice to enhance South Australia’s multicultural policies, programs, and festivities.
Expressions of interest for Commission membership will be accepted until Monday March 4, at 9:00 am.
